"In recent years my artistic gaze has often focused on the lost, confused human, pompously dominating the world. In my ensemble shows I have looked at communities filled with power games and populated by characters pursuing their own gain. Now I turn my gaze to an individual detached from the community.
While making KELLARI [BASEMENT] I was thinking about a human gnawing at their own roots. I was thinking about breaking. About coming apart. About consequences.
I was thinking about spiritual sleepwalking. About things we want to close our eyes to. About the basement as a place for the subconscious. About the bed as a place for dreaming.
